Calling all anime fans! The UK’s largest anime and manga convention is coming to London this weekend for two whole days packed with all things anime. And where has AnimeCon chosen to have its London debut? None other than North London’s Drumsheds, a multi-level, multi-room hot new venue set in an industrial warehouse for anime’s must-be event of the year.
Join fellow keen Anime, Manga and Ota-Culture con-goers on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday February 4 to see the wicked line-up of international guests, artists, streamers and exhibitors including some of the voices of your beloved characters from anime and gaming. Turn up in cosplay and see the amazing costumes of other cosplayers, attend talks on the convention’s live stage, check out the heaps of talent that over 150 artists will be showcasing, and dance to your heart’s content.
Among the confirmed artists you’ll get a chance to see include voice acting legend Keith Silverstein, who plays Zhongli in Genshin and Torbjörn in Overwatch, Cristina Vee who voices Ladybug in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Brianna Knickerbocker the voice of Hu Tao, Nazeeh Tarsha who plays Alhaitham, and Joe Zieja who plays Claude in Fire Emblem: Three houses and Shannon Chan-Kent, the voice of Misa Amane in Death Note.
With a packed-out schedule, there’ll be plenty to see and do at AnimeCon. At the Artists Alley, guests can explore the pop-up market where they can peruse endless artworks and wares by over 200 anime artists and exhibitors, feel like stars and have some excellent photo ops as they walk along the convention’s red carpet, and mingle with their favourite VTubers and featured cosplayers. There may even be an appearance from the celebrated London anime-themed restaurant Uzumaki.
The fun doesn’t stop there though… there’ll be a silent disco so you can boogie along to your favourite anime songs, an Anime and J-pop Random Playdance, and in the evening there’ll even be a Cosplay After Party hosted by DJ Level Up Leroy for a night at Drumsheds you won’t forget.
Clive Nørgaard Morton, Co-Founder of AnimeCon UK explains, “We’ve secured a really exciting new venue for our first show in London and it’s shaping up to be a brilliant event, with talent coming in from across the globe. There are thousands of anime and manga fans based in the capital and we’re looking to create a show which brings the community together, celebrating all forms of Asian entertainment.”
