Over in Crystal Palace Park next summer, the London music faithful will be treated to a delightful amalgamation of metal, alt-rock, and punk at a giant outdoor show of 90s and present-day anthems. Bringing the push/pull of ethereal metal that has evolved from the mid-nineties up to today are headliners Deftones; with fellow alt-rock 90s legends Weezer and UK hardcore band High Vis with them as support acts.
The trio, plus more acts, will take to the stage on June 29 at Crystal Palace Park, which holds more people than the O2 Arena and will a Sunday packed with noise. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, November 8 at 9am, with an artist pre-sale on November 6 at the same time. You can sign up for pre-sale access on the Deftones website.
For Deftones, it’s their first London show since 2022 – which itself was an intimate affair at the Kentish Town Forum, meaning this time around is their first ‘big show in the capital since their appearance at Robert Smith’s Meltdown festival in 2018 and an Ally Pally headliner in 2017. Expect a set spanning their entire career from 1995’s Adrenaline to their 2020 effort Ohms, showcasing their evolution and idiosyncrasy in the world of alt-rock and metal.
Weezer makes the bill a humungous affair with a set that will span from the gorgeous highs of tracks from 90s classic ‘Blue’ album and Pinkerton to the angular and bizarre sounds that have continued into the present day from Rivers Cuomo and co.
UK punks High Vis will also be taking to the stage to perform tracks from their strongest outing to date, Guided Tour, which dropped last month to instant acclaim. It comes after their February UK tour, and the Crystal Palace Park show will mark their biggest support yet in London.
Tickets for Deftones at Crystal Palace go on sale this Friday, November 8 at 9am, and you’ll be able to book your spot here. Artist pre-sale takes place two days earlier on Wednesday, November 6 at the same time, and you can access details here.
