Tasty Bits
Let’s dig into the tasty bits first, shall we?
Maltby Street Market

Under the railway arches of Bermondsey, Maltby Street Market brings global flavours together into one open-air food market. Every weekend, Londoners can stroll beneath the colourful flags and past independent traders, feasting on everything from seared meat straight off the grill to gooey, aromatic raclette.

Peckham Palais

From 19th-century department store to reimagined nightclub, Peckham Palais has taken over South London once again. Housed in an iconic neo-Renaissance building, it features The Ballroom, a 250-capacity cocktail bar, where you can enjoy a few drinks before dancing them off downstairs. Once you descend into the basement, you’ll be greeted with a state-of-the-art sound system constructed to connect DJs with the dancefloor for an unforgettable night out.
Discount Suit Company

Forget the tailor’s: Discount Suit Company is stitching up some of London’s best cocktails instead. Sip creative, classically inspired serves like the Moonstomp, made with Woven Homemade Whisky, Kay Sake, toasted rice, mango, coconut and soda, or the Corn Star, blending Quiquiriqui Mezcal with Nixta, buttered corn, passionfruit, mole and citrus. All the while, Northern Soul and vintage rock ’n’ roll provide the surrounding soundtrack.

Somewhere Green Cafe

In a green paradise where everything—from the plates to the walls—takes on the same leafy hue, you’ll find a community staple in, you guessed it, Bethnal Green. More than just a neighborhood vegan café, this welcoming space invites you to order a latte and stick around for an art or book club event. And did we mention your pup is invited, too?

Dalston Jazz Bar

A seafood joint has never had this much edge. Dalston Jazz Bar is run by owner, head chef and DJ Robert Beckford, who serves up fresh seafood on a “pay what you think it’s worth” basis, with a £20 minimum donation per person. As you dine, live jazz plays right alongside your table, creating an intimate, interactive atmosphere unlike anywhere else in London. Then, at 10pm, the tables are cleared, the music switches up and Beckford takes to the decks, transforming the seafood spot into a late-night club.

Seeing the animals in Clissold Park

Nothing does the soul good quite like a visit with adorable animals. A herd of fallow deer calls Clissold Park home, alongside a collection of exotic birds in the park’s aviary. Deer have lived in the park since 1890, just a year after it first opened. The original residents were red deer gifted to the park from Highbury Park, while today, the park’s staff care for the fallow deer herd.
