This Is What TFL Thought Today’s Tube Map Would Look Like In 2009!

Throwback to 2009. TFL had big plans for the infrastructure of London’s Transport Network. Some of these lines, however, are nowhere to be seen on today’s map.

You’ll spot a few ‘proposed lines’ that have yet to make an appearance. The majority of these abandoned projects are tram systems, including the Cross River Transit, the West London Tram and the Greenwich Waterfront Transit. Crossrail also won’t be fully completed until the end of 2018 at the earliest. Perhaps this goes to show that London isn’t ready to open its arms to trams. We’d rather remain tightly packed together, hot and sweaty in the depths of an underground transport system that frequently fails us. What else would we have to moan about? Well, other than rent prices, salaries, the weather, other people…
