Dine Under A Canopy Of Cherry Blossoms At Winterland’s Revamped Spring Pop-Up

share on:

Winterland is reopening today, and it’s had a sickly-sweet Valentine’s makeover.

Fulham’s Christmas pop-up, Winterland, is re-opening today for the springtime, and to mark the occasion organisers have completely plastered their al fresco, plastic ‘igloos’ with hundreds of hot pink cherry blossoms… Which we can’t help but think is a little much.

Apart from this minor detail however, Winterland – shouldn’t it be called ‘Springland’ now? – remains largely unchanged. In addition to these garish, princess-pink domes, Winterland is still comprised of an ‘enchanted forest’, winter lodges, curling lanes and prosecco pong tables. Oh, and they’ve added in a few karaoke booths for good measure.

A selection of cheese-based food is still being served up by Jimmy Garcia of Jimmy’s Lodge and you can still get your fix of hot cocktails in the bar. Basically, if you’re missing all the twinkly Winter pop-ups that appeared last November, Winterland is stepping in to bring back some of that seasonal magic.

They’ve removed all traces of Christmas paraphernalia though, so those of you wishing it could be Christmas everyday might feel slightly disappointed. Having said that, the trees and fairy lights still keep things feeling vaguely festive, so perhaps not.

It’s hard to say just how popular these spring igloos are going to be, but they’re certainly gimmicky, so we’re sure they’ll appeal to a certain type of Insta-obsessed individual looking for a few florals to brighten up their feed. They’re already booked up for Valentine’s Day at any rate, so somebody must think they’re quite nice. You can book seating for up to 8 people in one of these pink monstrosities for the tidy sum of £95, and that doesn’t include any food or drink… Bargain! Otherwise, standard entry to Winterland is £5 and you can buy those either on their website or on the door.

You’ll find Winterland at Albert Wharf, Fulham, SW6 2TY from 14th February to 10th March and it’s open Thursdays and Friday from 6pm – 11pm and Saturdays 2pm – 11pm.
