Oh my ears and whiskers! London’s favourite gourmet Hot Dog and Champagne bar, Bubbledogs, is getting up to mischief hiding 1,000 champagne shaped keepsakes around Soho and Fitzrovia this Easter. “But you said free hot dogs?!”, we hear you ask. Well…
Between Friday 14th and Monday 17th April, the hippity hoppity Hot Dog bunny is hiding the “bottles” under bushes, tucked away in offices, pretty much anywhere and everywhere. When you have uncovered your Champagne-esque keepsake (can we drink it, though…) you can take it to Bubbledogs’ Charlotte Street home and earn a free hot dog.
But what’s on the menu for your dog-lightful Easter meal? We’ve picked ours already…
The New Yorker… with grilled sauerkraut and caramelized onions
The Mac Daddy… mac ‘n’ cheese and bacon bits
The José… tomato salsa, avocado, sour cream, pickles jalapenos
Or the soon-to-be-released Welsh Rarebit Dog… brand new for Easter accompanied with homemade welsh rarebit and pickled radish
Of course, you can also order any of the other delectables from the Bubbledogs menu to accompany your free dog, and obviously, a glass of bubbles. There’s warm cheddar and honey corn muffins on offer (£5) or egg plant caviar with croutons (£5). Plus, taking the place of an Easter egg, there’s the Chocolate Dog, made with Jivara chocolate ganache with sweet cinnamon brioche and cherry and banana sauce (£7).
Bubbledogs founder, Sandia Chang, has said about the hunt; ‘As a kid I always relished the yearly Easter egg hunt at home, and as an adult you miss out on all the fun. We wanted to rectify that, but replace the Easter eggs with hotdogs and your family back garden with Central London. It’s the ultimate urban hunter gatherer challenge!’
Bubbledog’s Easter Hunt will be running on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Monday 17th of April 2017 (closed Easter Sunday). Hot dogs will be redeemable on the Friday, Saturday and Monday. T&C’s will be written on the ‘bottles’.
