Perhaps it’s a little snowverrated, but the word on the street is that we are in for a white Christmas this year, with temperatures dropping as low as -16C, which would be Brrrritain’s coldest temperature since December 2010’s -21C Big Freeze! These chilly conditions are being blamed on the coldest Atlantic temperatures since records began 80 years ago.
Typically a dreamy phenomenon, we dread to think of the travel chaos that will come with this real winter wonderland…particularly as London alone is said to be set for a minimum of 5 days of snow or ice (hate to think what will be going on up North).
The winter chill is due to a cold 1,500-mile wide swathe of the North Atlantic starting 500 miles west of Britain. Despite the Met Office claiming that it is too early to tell, bookies have slashed their odds, and we have already started dreaming up our wintry adventures.
Where there’s snow, there’s…hot chocolate, snowball fights, cozying up with your other half (or cats…*ahem*) and London looks even more pretty than ever:
Already in the spirit? We’re not surprised, Winterville is back in town.
