Things almost seemed a little bit too quiet on the TfL front recently. With Dry January in full swing, we’d almost forgotten why we even needed the Night Tube in the first place, all tucked up in bed way before midnight… But rumours of a THREE DAY tube strike have stirred up old emotions and we have a feeling things are only going to get worse.
Travel chaos will hit London once again this year, with two separate walk-outs planned by London tube drivers. A 24-hour strike will take place from 9.14pm, on Wednesday 27 January, followed by two further 24-hour strikes from the same time on February 15 and 17. In other words, prepare for bad traffic, busy buses and lots of angry tweets.
The strikes are a reaction to the rows that continue over pay and conditions as a result of the planned implementation of the Night Tube in London. As well as this never-ending dispute, workers are angry about plans to axe 800 jobs from stations the union claims are “safety critical”.
Will it ever end? Who knows.. But for now, dust off your trainers, London.
