This Wild Pop-Up Is Encouraging You To Be Naughty This Christmas
Set in a parallel universe where Christmas is cancelled, Christmess is run by an anarchistic gang of escaped elves who are determined to keep the festivities going.
In an almighty collaboration between Slap Ya Papa and Marbles & Ware, Christmess is based in an underground warehouse disguised as a present destruction factory, where plenty of debaucherous partying is still going ahead.
Aside from dancing on tables, you can also tuck into a crazy-ass Christmess dinner from the legendary Slap Ya Papa, including Cajun-roasted turkey, truffled brussels sprouts and candied yams. You can get your tickets for the Festive Feast here.
Set in Olde London, a barely used warehouse on Southwark Street, it promises to be utter chaos. There’ll be raucous parties, live jazz, cabaret and plenty of opportunities to be mischievous and break the rules. Follow the glittery Green Fairy to her hidden absinthe bar, or find out whether you’ve been naughty or nice at Santa’s Whiskey Grotto (there’ll be appropriate consequences for either). There’ll also be a cosy wine bar where people can pop in for a glass of the good stuff paired with some glorious platters of cheese. You can book one of their artisan cheese pairing sessions here.
And the madness doesn’t stop there. You can also catch a hilarious performance of The Night Before Christmas, or a magnificent and captivating storytelling experience from Embers Collective.
The venue will also be open throughout the day, hosting crafty elves selling their handmade wares at the Maker’s Market. Expect to find a bunch of lovely stocking fillers, as well as hosting a selection of festive workshops, including wreath weaving with BLO:AUM and candle making with Forest Garden.
The festive and chaotic Christmess pop-up launches on November 15th for 6 weeks. You’ll find it at The Imaginarium, 32 Southwark Street, SE1 1TU.
