Fun-spiration! 6 Things To Do In London To Inspire Your Weekend Plans

No weekend plans? See if any of these Laaandan happenings tickle your fancy…

1. Block Party Cinema, Brixton

[Block Party Cinema]
Block Party’s outdoor cinema is screening Dope – a fast and funny comedy flick that follows 3 high school geeks obsessed with 90s Hip Hop culture as they navigate their way around the hood, avoiding gangsters and bullies this movie – at Pop Brixton. You’re expected to rustle around your finest geek or gangster outfits, to create the right kind of vibes, man. Tickets are £12 and can be bought here.

49 Brixton Station Road, SW9 8PQ

2. Regent Street Garden Party

[Regent Street]
Regent Street will be clear of cabbies and buses this Sunday 17th July, as the Summer Series continues with a quintessentially British garden party. This free event will be a perfect eclectic mix of restaurants and retailers coming together to enjoy the summer sun with its customers as well as hosting a fun-filled day with several entertainment zones. This will include a bandstand that will be blasting out traditional British music which you can enjoy on a trendy Tommy Hilfiger deck chair, whilst (hopefully) soaking in the sunshine and relishing in all the fantastic food and drink that Regent Street has on offer.

3. Chap Olympiad

The Chap Olympiad provides Londoners with a day-long celebration of English eccentricity (aka polite craziness), alongside a summer party. This Saturday 16th July, it’s time to up your tweed game, as Britain’s best dressed will  descend on Bedford Square Gardens for a very British party, complete with Olympiad games for the unathletic, live music, and Bourne & Hollingsworth’s trademark cocktails. It’s going to be jolly good fun! Tickets are £25 and can be bought here.

4. Hyper Japan

[Hyper Japan]
We’re turning Japanese this weekend, as Hyper Japan brings a bit of Japanese culture to London’s Olympia. Whether you’re after a taste of sushi or are a huge anime fan, it’s a unique, recurring festival that will certainly open your eyes and transport you to the bright lights of Tokyo. Entry is £15 and can be bought in advance or on the door.

Kensington Olympia Grand

5. Nomad Cinema @ Grosvenor Square Garden

It’s seems to be a summer of open air films (although, the weather would have you thinking otherwise). Either way, the Grosvenor Film Festival has teamed up with The Nomad – a unique roaming pop-up cinema – to host the friendliest open-air cinema screenings. Situated at the exquisite Grosvenor Square Garden, on the 16th July they are screening the 90’s classic Thelma & Louise. Tickets are £15 and can be bought here.

6. Roxx on the Roof

The heights of Soho are calling… and Roxx club are invading Sanctum Soho Hotel Roof Gardens this summer, bringing music lovers house and party tunes laced with rock classics. Alongside your dancing, you need to try their ultimate sharing cocktail – the ‘Roxxstar Skull’. Oh, and did we mention that there’s a jacuzzi? (No skinny dipping allowed, unfortunately). Although the party officially ends at 10pm, the Roxx team are pretty well-connected when sorting out a nearby after party… Roxx on the roof runs every Saturday for £15 – you can get your tickets here.
