After 50 days of cruising around London in a car that emits nothing but water, Hyundai Motor UK have unveiled the results of their 2092 mile driving challenge…and we’re kind of impressed. Using the 503,919 photographs that were taken of central London streets along the way, they’ve created a mosaic of Oxford Street, voted London’s most iconic street in a survey this year.
The highly complex feat involved driving, photographing and filming every central London street, over 2092 miles, as defined by the world-famous cabbie ‘Knowledge’. The massive 6m x 2m piece of art is the world’s first mosaic composed of over half a million photos and will be available for the public to view in London’s City Hall in the new year.
The images have also been sequenced into a time lapse video (shown below) also depicting the capital’s streets and landmarks including Trafalgar Square, The London Eye and Clapham Common.

50 days is a long time to be driving around London (especially when you consider the traffic) but we think it paid off.
