September is a bit of an odd month; we’re only just nearing the end of summer, yet we’ve already heard the C word a few too many times (that’s Christmas, FYI).
Here’s a few things to tide you over until autumn, and keep you a safe distance away from anything too festive.
1. Dance the night away at OnBlackheath Festival
With top acts including The Libertines, Metronomy, De La Soul, Jake Bugg and Seasick Steve performing in one of south-east London’s most beautiful parks, OnBlackheath is a feel-good festival like no other. There’ll be an amazing food village boasting tasty stalls and demonstrations from celebrity chefs, as well as plenty of fun activities for people of all ages.
OnBlackheath takes place on the 9th and 10th September. Get hold of weekend and day tickets here.
2. Enjoy the last of the sunshine at this epic summer garden party
If, like many of us, you’re severely lacking in the ‘garden’ department (London, eh?), then this garden party may just fill a whole in your life. This one’s in the form of an epic, al fresco day party at Studio 338’s great outdoor space. There’ll be plenty of booze, plenty of music and lots of jolly good laughs.
3. Watch a film al fresco-styley at Luna Cinema
Watch a movie under a cosy blanket, and try not to get distracted by the epic views of London from Alexandra Palace. Choose from either La La Land or The Lost Boys, treat yourself to some food and drink from the onsite bar, and get yourself settled under the stars.
4. ABODE in the park
If electronic music is your thing, this festival is calling your name. Based in Finsbury Park, it’s set to be ABODE’s biggest and best event to date. Expect to see some of the greatest names in house music (including Infinity Ink, Darius Syrossian and Secondcity), multiple stages and a bunch of ridiculously tasty food stalls.
The festival takes place on September 24th and you can get your tickets (including VIP tickets) here.
5. Head to an exclusive Secret London screening of Guardians of the Galaxy
After a successful exclusive viewing of Dirty Dancing in August, we’re continuing the trend with a special screening of Guardians of the Galaxy. You might remember us putting a poll out on our Facebook page, asking you to vote for your favourite movies, and GOTG came out on top. So, on Monday September 11th, head down to Backyard Cinema and come and say hello!
6. Play arcade games with a futuristic twist…

Ever fancied a bit of a virtual reality? You know, a wee break from this reality that we endure every day to step into an epic world of mountain climbing or Zombie apocalypses. You’ll get an hour in the VR arcade, with opportunities to play a variety of games, including Fruit Ninja, Everest VR and Alice in Wonderland Stories.
7. Hospitality in the Park
Brought to you by Hospital Records and in its second year, Hospitality in the Park is the best drum ‘n’ bass experience you’ll find in the city, hands down. Headliners include London Elekricity, My Nu Leng & Dread MC, Mala, Fred V & Grafix Live, and the festival is set to fill Finsbury Park with impressive production and sound design, plus a range of amazing BBQ food, craft beer and street-food.
8. London Fashion Week Festival
Get your Bronze and Silver tickets here.
9. Say goodbye to summer at Milkshake’s Rooftop Beach Party
Okay, summer is sadly coming to an end and as a way to celebrate, Milkshake are throwing a rooftop beach party to remember. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and dance the day away for only £8. Expect all those stereotypical things you see in American movies and enjoy the very best sound systems whilst enjoying a selection of beach inflatables, face painting and of course, lots of tropical cocktails and street food.
10. Glug down on beer at Shoreditch Oktoberfest
Last Days of Shoreditch has been one of our go-to summer venues but the fun isn’t set to stop anytime soon, oh no. They’ll be playing host to the Shoreditch Oktoberfest which will see the venue transformed into a mini Bavaria, complete with live entertainment, performers, lots of Bratwurst and of course, a hell of a lot of beer. General admission tickets include entry as well as a complimentary stein of Oktoberfest beer. Upgrade to VIP and receive express entry into the venue, two steins of beer, a portion of food and prime allocated seating. Happy days.
11. Studio 338 Garden Closing Party
12. Waltz the night away at Masquerade Ball: A Late Summer Night’s Dream
Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this masquerade ball is set 100 feet above High Street Kensington at The Roof Gardens. Hide behind your mask, enjoy a complimentary cocktail as well as live music, acrobatic shows and other exciting performances when your ticket is purchased through Fever.
