If you’re looking for an out-of-this-world experience this October, then Bourne & Hollingsworth’s latest event is definitely one to attend.
Based in a ‘haunted’ circus, follow the freaks and geeks in their ghoulish performances while sipping on some deliciously spooky cocktails. Inside this Big Top, you’ll find a world of heady illusion and unbridled spectacle – a party brimming with delectable cocktails, abandoned dancing, curious side-shows and magnificent acrobatic performances.
What follows is a traditional circus bill but with a twisted approach: There’ll be caged curiosities breathing fire and swallowing swords, bizarre sideshow oddities and more unusual elements than you could ever imagine. Sip on creations like the Ringmaster’s Poison (rum shaken with pineapple and pomegranate, finished with a hint of Maraschino liqueur) and the Circus Royale (vodka shaken with elderflower and lemon, topped with fizz), while you watch the show.
Because while you’re wandering through the circus, you’ll step over to the dark side of this surreal party for a night of spectacular entertainment and performances. And that’s not all: prepare to stare starry-eyed at the enchanting aerialists as they spin from the ceiling, performing marvellous feats of death-defying moves.
It’s the best chance you’ll get in London to run away with the circus for one night only.
So pick a persona, embrace your inner voyeur and enter the carnival of curiosities for a night of abandoned dancing, breathtaking performances and a magical Halloween spectacle.
And if you’re looking for outfit inspiration, listen up carefully: Bourne & Hollingsworth will accept only the scariest and spookiest on the night. All guests must become part of the Dark Circus troupe so think Ring Masters, Burlesque Showgirls, Leopard print leotards, Tattooed Ladies, Sideshow Freaks, Queens of the Flying Trapeze, Animal Masks, Tragic Clowns, Snake Charmers, Lion Tamers and Strong Men.
In their own words: Anyone wearing jeans, trainers or t-shirts will be refused entry and fed to the lions. The options are endless and you’ll get extra points for originality.
If that wasn’t enough to get you in the Halloween mood, you’ll also find the Dark Circus makeup wagon tucked away inside, where you can be transformed into the ultimate Halloween creature.
Tickets cost £35 and can be purchased via the Fever App. The Dark Circus Party runs from 9pm – 3am on Saturday 27th October. The location hasn’t yet been revealed but we can tell you that it’s a “Secret East London”-based event. Shhh!
