10 Best Places To Celebrate #NationalBurgerDay In London

share on:

It’s #NationalBurgerDay which means it’s basically Christmas for any lovers of red meat out there. (Who likes turkey anyway?!) We’ve lined up a flippin’ great countdown of the ten best burgers in London… It’s time to get celebrating…

1) Meatliquor, W1G 0BA

Meat Liquor
[Mirror Me]
Dark and trendy, Meat Liquor serves more than just burgers. It’s a carnivore’s paradise. The burgers that they do serve, though, are pretty damn tasty. We’ll leave you to ponder what’s in their ‘Dead Hippie’ burger.

2) Mother Flipper, SE4 1UT

Mother Flipper
The name alone is great for its snigger-inducing suggestiveness. Look beyond it for the most amazing, piled high juicy burgers. Still at the more mobile phase of burgery, Mother Flipper will be one to watch for the future.

3) Meat Market, WC2E 8BE

Meat Market burger
[Hungry Hoss]
Believe it or not, Meat Market is a relative of Meat Liquor. Think of it as Meat Liquor’s little cousin, from the same beefy stock. Any doubts we had about including it on the same list as its cuz were expelled when we saw the pictures of its burgers. I mean, look at that ⇧⇧⇧!

4) Burger Lab, E1 6HU

Burger Lab can be found at Pump Shoreditch, an old converted gas station in Shoreditch. Their cheese burger is pretty sensational and at £6 it’s the cheapest in East London if you download the Fever app. Why? Because you get fries with that.

5) Five Guys, various locations

Five Guys
American-style fast food burgers, but done really well. We love their retro style and the fact that you can get as many free toppings as you like. There are currently 8 Five Guys in and around London, which makes for a lot of guys, and a lot of tasty burgers.

6) Dirty Burger, various locations

Dirty Burger
From smokey to dirty, DB serves burgers to bathe in, not just to eat. If you’re struggling to get your head round that imagery, why not picture getting your chops round their naughty breakfast burgers.

7) Tommi’s Burger Joint, various locations

[The London Sinner]
With locations on Kings Road and Marylebone, American-style diner Tommi’s keeps it simple with just a few options on the menu, including a burger of the month and a juicy steak burger. You’ve got to try their shakes too.

8) Honest Burger, various locations

Honest Burger
[The Critical Couple]
The burger that doesn’t lie, Honest is all about simple and delicious British burgers, cooked properly. And while we’re in the candid mood, they’re pretty good. Especially with an ‘Honest Ale’ on the side.

9) Bleecker St, E1 6EA

Bleecker Street
[Urban Spoon]
If you don’t know, now you know – to paraphrase Biggie Smalls (who must have been talking about burgers at the time). Whether it’s from their mobile van or on site at their stall in Spitalfields Market, we’re mad for Bleecker. Perhaps because there’s one right by Secret London HQ.

10) Patty & Bun, EC2M 7PD

For a London burger you won’t get any better than Patty & Bun. They’re so good they’ve taken on names and personalities. Our favourite? The ‘Smokey Robinson’. It sings to us. Perhaps we’d better leave it there.

  1. Can’t believe African Volcano’s “Dirty Little Secret” burger which they cook up at Maltby Market doesn’t feature on here. You’ll struggle to find a better burger in the UK. Everyone should try it at least once in their life!

  2. Great list! You missed out Goodman Burger though, probably the best meat/burger joint I’ve been to. One in Central, one in St Paul’s. A few more joints elsewhere. Very highly recommended!

  3. I’ve had Patty & Bun, Byron and 5 Guys. I’d say of those 5 Guys was the better.
All time favorite burger in London has to be Carnaby Burger Company in Soh.

  4. Appreciated list, but would have been so much more useful it had a price list attached to each. Only one did.
