A Tea Pub Has Come To Tooting And It’s Un-brew-lievabley Cool

Brew has sent the Britishness scale off the chart by combining these elements to make an actual tea pub.

When you think of tea and pubs it’s impossible not to think of Britain. Well, Brew’s founder, Alex Holland, is giving our nation’s obsession with tea an update. He’s created the rather niche new category of ‘tea pub’, serving loose leaf teas by the pot, alongside classic pub food and tea infused cocktails.

Brew are hoping to wean you off the builders tea by showing you just how great a cup of properly brewed, loose leaf tea can be. There’s a choice of Fresh Masala Chai, English Breakfast Superior, Real Bergamot Earl Grey, Jasmine Flower Green Tea, and Moroccan Gunpowder Mint. And not only have the flavours been carefully curated, they’re all brewed using tea taps specifically designed to filter and heat to leaf-specific temperatures. It’s practically a science.

While tea cocktails have had a brief vogue in recent years, Brew takes all things tea very seriously. This isn’t just a fad. They’re updating a selection of classic cocktails (think Cosmopolitans and Old Fashioneds) by lovingly infusing them with high quality loose leaf teas that you’ll really be able to taste. We’d particularly reccommend the English Breakfast Martini. Who knew you could live in a world where you wouldn’t have to choose between a cup of tea and a martini?

And let’s not forget about their perfectly presented pub grub. They’re serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you could easily spend a day here, sipping and slurping your way through the menu.

And just like with their innovative drinks selection Brew are attempting to ‘reinterpret British tradition’ with their menu of slightly whacky British classics. Marmalade glazed sausage roll, anyone? They also offer a tea and cake pairing menu, the perfect solution to when you’re not sure what goes best with your cup of Earl Grey. FYI, Almond and Blueberry crumble cake goes with jasmine tea and Chocolate Guinness cake goes with English breakfast. Duh.
