Taste of London is back with a four day food festival filled with enough Christmas cheer to thaw even the frostiest of hearts.
From November 15–18, Taste of London is returning to east London’s Tobacco Dock for a long weekend dedicated to all things festive and edible. From wine and cheese pairings, to Christmassy cocktail making and hot dog parties, Taste of London is set to be a sparkling, culinary wonderland.
With nineteen of the capital’s most acclaimed restaurants in attendance, guests can create their very own tasting menu, featuring a number of different cuisines. You can expect to see returning cult favourites BAO, Hopper’s and The Cheese Bar, each serving up their signature dishes. However, there will also be some cracking additions to the lineup for 2018, including: Nonna Tonda, who are famous for their amazing pasta dishes; Kutir, the highly anticipated Indian restaurant; Jamie Oliver’s BBQ restaurant, Barbecoa; XU, the Taiwanese restaurant dishing out delicious dumplings; and Papparich, who serve up incredible, authentic Malaysian cuisine.
Besides filling your bellies with food, there’ll also be opportunities to fill your minds with knowledge, for many a masterclass will be taking place over the weekend. Brush up on your mixology skills with one of Taste’s cocktail making classes, in partnership with Tanqueray, Ketel One and/or Johnny Walker. Or, if you’re a bit of a winer (aren’t we all?), pop into Accolade Wine School to learn all about the perfect cheese and wine pairing. There’ll also be a drop-in wine bar, which is obviously important information.
If you’re up for a party, head to the Fire Pit on Saturday night for two hours of tunes from DJ BBQ as he serves up hot dogs. (Now, that’s the sort of sausage party I want to hear about.) Fan favourite Deco Noir Piano Man will also be back with some absolute classics to get us all into the festive spirit.
There will also be plenty of Christmas shopping opportunities for all you eager beavers who – very sensibly – like to get your gifts bought and wrapped before December. Sticking to the deep-seated ‘edible’ theme, there will be lots of festive treats to take home, including: handmade Burley Fudge; award winning Cornish Cheese Co.; organic Beronia Wines; and Instagrammable cheesecakes from Pleesecakes. (None of which I’d trust myself to save until Christmas, I must say.)
If you’re after a fancier affair, get yourself a VIP ticket. You’ll get two or three dishes included, access to the VIP lounge, and a glass of Champagne Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee. Go on, you deserve it.
Tickets start at £13 if you buy from our ticket partner Fever, and rise slightly if you opt for VIP treatment. So book your tickets here, and we’ll see you there!
