We all know a Pimm’s is best enjoyed by the water.
There’s nothing peachier than a Pimm’s on a summer’s day in London – especially if you can find a suitably tranquil spot. So watch the world drift by (or even do the drifting yourself!) at one of these irresistibly lovely canalside locations.
1. GoBoat, Little Venice
Chart your own destiny with these eight-person electric motor boats, which you can pick up in Paddington Basin. There’s a picnic table helpfully installed in the middle of each craft, so all you need to do is remember to the pack the Pimm’s! Find out more about GoBoat.
2. Summerhouse Restaurant
This idyllic canalside restaurant is as close to the water as it gets without getting your socks wet. Situated in the beautiful neighbourhood of Little Venice, there’s all day dining from the outdoor grill in summer months. Splendid.
3. Darcie & May Green
Adding a splash of colour and shot of vitality to Regent’s Canal come these beautiful barges, designed by legendary British pop artist Peter Blake. Clamber aboard for colourful, zesty dishes and a brilliant brunch; or soak up some rays on the roof with a Pimm’s cocktail! More information here.
4. Alfred LeRoy
This brilliant barge moors up at Hackney’s CRATE Brewery – but also takes passengers on excursions around the east London waterways. Reserve a table, and savour platters of cheese and charcuterie, accompanied by your choice of cocktail (no prizes for guessing what we’d recommend!) as you chug merrily along the Lea Navigation. Triffic!
5. Number 90
This brilliant Hackney Wick venue has a cute little waterside terrace to enjoy on summer afternoons. Along with some excellent food, you can find Drag Queen Bingo, disco parties and other spiffing events inside after the sun goes down. Cheers!
