Steam Dreams Rail

Steam Dreams Rail are bringing back the halcyon days of train travel.

You’d never know it from those tiring commutes into London, but once upon a time, riding the rails was an act of luxurious enjoyment, and a thrilling day out. The Steam Dreams Rail Co are delighted to be bringing back the joy of vintage railway adventures, with the launch of their Sunset Steam Express experiences. Departing London Victoria at 6pm on Tuesdays throughout the summer, these wonderful journeys will whisk you across the English countryside and back in true style. You can book your tickets here!

The golden age of steam returns on this tour, as a vintage steam locomotive leads the train out of the capital and into the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests are invited to step back in time; settle into a comfortable vintage train carriage and watch the countryside roll by, with sights such as the Vale of Holmesdale and the market towns of Dorking and Reigate on the itinerary.

Two ticket types are available for your trip; opt for the Standard Class ticket, and you’ll be seated in a 1960s carriage where you’ll be able to tuck into your picnic.

However, if you choose the Pullman Style Dining Experience ticket, your evening meal is already taken care of. A delicious three-course dining experience will be served to your table inside the 1950s carriage, furnished with table lamps and gorgeous wooden panelling. It’s your chance to travel in the lap of luxury!

Whichever experience you choose, you’ll be able to purchase drinks on board, and as the sun begins to dip towards the horizon, the train will carry you back to the hustle and bustle of London. And even though the Tube might not compare once you’ve taken this journey, you’ll still be left with the memory of an unforgettable day out!
