Pumpkin spice gelato is the season’s must have foodie accessory.
In the murky world of on-trend, Instagrammable ice creams, Snowflake Gelato at Selfridges have proved themselves a pretty adept player. First, they brought us the millennial-baiting avolato. Now, they’re jumping all over the never-ending pumpkin spice mania, with their pumpkin spice gelato treat arriving just as the leaves begin to fall.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that, like winter and igloos, autumn and pumpkin spice anything just go together perfectly. Still, this is an ambitious and delicious offering by anyone’s standards. A big ol’ whip of vegan pumpkin gelato is topped with fresh cream, pumpkin seeds, and crumbled gingerbread biscotto, and served in a cute baby pumpkin.
Unlike the avolato, I think it sounds utterly delicious, although it does trigger a fair few millennial buzzwords to help sell it: Vegan! Pumpkin spice! Instagram! Expect a host of food bloggers to begin descending on Selfridges soon, angling for a snap of the gorgeous gourd. Not sure I can blame them; after all, it’s the season for pumpkin spice and everything nice…
