Catch the breathtaking poppies at the Imperial War Museum from today.
As we told you last month, the ceramic poppies that flooded the Tower of London moat in 2014 are coming back to London. They’ve been installed at the Imperial War Museum today, in an installation named ‘Weeping Window’ – and now, the first pictures have emerged.
The poppies take pride of place, spilling out of the museum’s domed roof and cascading to the front lawn.
11,000 poppies form ‘Weeping Window’, a fraction of the 888,246 originals, each one commemorating a British or Colonial life lost in WW1.
It’s a moving tribute to those lost, which celebrates the centenary of the Armistice.
This is the final leg of the ‘Weeping Windows’ tour, which has seen the poppies appear across the country.
The installation will be in place until November 18th, and it’s free to view.
Find the installation at Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, SE1 6HZ, from today.
