Michelin-starred fine dining and urban pop-up culture collide in this exciting food festival, happening from now until Sunday 17th May. Hosted by the Galvin brothers, who have 2 Michelin stars and 10 AA Rosettes between them (so probably know what they’re doing), The Festival of Food and Drink will showcase some of the finest food from each of the 7 restaurants in the Galvin collection.
Into its 3rd year, the annual festival is taking place at Café à Vin in Spitalfields. Like a really fancy version of Ready Steady Cook, Chris Galvin has selected some of his favourite ingredients and sent a shopping list to each of his head chefs to come up with a dish, which are on sale at the festival from just £5 each.
[Food at Galvin La Chapelle]As if Michelin-starred street food wasn’t enough, the Galvin family will also be joined by The Rib Man, Brick Lane’s now famous baby back barbecue-er. He’s got a pretty famous hot sauce too, but the name is a bit too spicy to mention on here. We’re a family site, guys… Delicious food alone sometimes doesn’t quite do it, so the Galvins have also invited along Ink Spot Brewery, a duo producing fine micro-brewed beer in Streatham.
[Rib Roll from The Rib Man]Galvin’s Festival of Food and Drink seems like a really good day out, and a chance to sample Michelin star London luxury without sampling the prices. One not to be missed, so why not invite your friends along and RSVP to the event now. To mark the festival, Galvin’s Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning Café à Vin have teamed up with events app Fever to offer a special 2-course lunch tasting menu on Friday. Priced at £16.50 with a free glass of wine, it can only be booked here.
