Oxford Street’s St Christopher’s Welcomes Spring With 1,200 Flowers

From Wednesday (16th March), St Christopher’s will be transformed into a floral oasis as artist Rebecca Louise Law installs 1,200 fresh flowers, resulting in an illusory experience of an aerial spring veil delicately showering visitors. Watch the live installation take its natural course as each flower morphs through fluctuations. Designed to celebrate the arrival of the warmer months (we say through gritted teeth and a ‘nudge, nudge, wink, wink’ to the weather man), the outdoor floral sensation will see different flower varieties hang from above, while the stores showcase garden-inspired window displays. AND there’s going to be a party…

To which you are all invited! On Thursday 17th, Mulberry will be serving champagne (in store), while brands such as Reiss, The Body Shop, Pizza Express and Pret A Manger are  said to be offering discounts and/or complimentary product. There will also be a flower photo-pod, where you can step into in order to snap a ‘floral-foto’, which can be instantly shared on social media – HELLO FUN! Anndddd, those who share their image with the #SCPGarden hashtag will be in with a chance to win a £250 shopping voucher. St Christopher’s will also be hosting half-an-hour flower pressing masterclasses on Thursday (17 March) and Saturday (19 March), where participants can create their own petal phone case!  Plus, a live jazz band will also be on hand…just in case there wasn’t enough going on. It’s not just a pretty installation now, is it?
