The Night Tube is nigh, Londoners! Transport for London have announced that they’ll be trialling the service this weekend, ahead of its official launch on August 19. Victoria and Central line trains will be running overnight on August 12 and 13 — a week before the service is open to passengers.
Unfortunately the trial will only involve staff and will not be accessible for us late night Londoners just yet — they’re just testing the waters to see if they’re ready. After a number of delays to the service launch on account of disputes over pay and work conditions, the Night Tube will officially start running on the Victoria and Central lines as of August 19 (presuming all goes to plan). The Piccadilly, Jubilee and Northern lines will follow suit in the autumn.
