Good news for east Londoners – the much-anticipated Night Overground will start services in December.
Starting on December 15, this all-new service will run on Friday and Saturday nights between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate.
The Night Overground won’t be stopping at Whitechapel at first, while the station undergoes overnight refurbishment works, and trains won’t be travelling north to Canonbury and Highbury and Islington. All those destinations are planned to be included in 2018, but it looks as if there are no plans to extend the service south to Croydon or Clapham just yet.
You’ll also be able to transfer onto the Jubilee Night Tube at Canada Water, whisking you as far afield as Stratford or Stanmore.
Here are some DOGS on the Overground!
Mayor Sadiq Khan said: ‘I’m delighted that we can bring night services to the East London line for the first time ever next month. The Night Tube has proven such a success with Londoners, I know the Night Overground will help thousands more who are working through the night or out enjoying our capital’s nightlife.’ True dat.
