An ice bar, you say? In winter?! Well, drinking in -7°C might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but Eis Haus reckons things are best served cold, regardless of what the weather is doing. Baby, it’s cold inside.
[Eis Haus]The pop-up is part of the city’s Christmas by the River celebrations and it will be sitting at London Bridge City, helping all you lovely Londoners ‘chill out’ until January 3rd. Featuring 10 tonnes of intricately sculpted ice you can enjoy your drinks served ice cold (the place is cooled between -5°C and -7°C) whilst occupying an elaborate ice throne.
[Eis Haus]Tickets to this truly chilling experience cost £15 and include a welcome drink in an ice glass on arrival and a 25-minute session in the cold. And, in case you were wondering, by ‘welcome drink’ they mean shot. The most welcoming of all drinks! Choose from fruit infused vodka, cherry liquer, coffee liquer, limoncello, tequila or Jägermeister. That’ll warm your cockles… A bit.
[Eis Haus]Don’t worry if you don’t fancy facing the freezing temperatures though, because there’s loads going on outside as well. As well as the Thames-side market, there’s an après-ski style bar (with no entry fee, hurrah!) serving hot toddies, and kitted out with blankets and heaters to keep you warm. They even host live ice carving displays in the evenings.
