Twice a year, museums across the country are invited to keep their doors open after hours. Luckily for us Londoners, some great heritage sites have decided to oblige. From Thursday October 27 until Saturday 29, you will have the opportunity to visit a number of London museums after dark and hopefully experience something a little bit different.
Museums at Night is a festival produced by Culture 24, an independent arts charity. The event has been very successful in the past, and we’re really looking forward to this years autumn edition. With it falling over the Halloween weekend, a lot of the events have a spooky theme, including Dickens After Dark at the Charles Dickens Museum and a pumpkin carving workshop at the National Gallery.
Other events include special evening visits to Westminster Abbey and cake decorating and bubbly at John Keats House. Have a look at the Museum at Night website for the full list of events.
