Mason & Fifth felt like staying at an old friend’s house; tucked away in the charming Primrose Hill area, it offered not just comfort but also the perfect location to live like a local, with picturesque streets and the park just a short stroll away.
From the moment I checked in, I was struck by how welcoming and well-thought-out the whole experience was. The beautifully restored heritage building and its modern comforts made it hard to believe I wasn’t a proper Londoner living in their perfect flat.
The hotel
The hotel is a heritage gem, seamlessly blending character with modern luxury. With 61 private studios, a stunning shared living space, a private garden, and a yoga studio, it’s ideal for those wanting to feel at home, whether for a few days or a longer stay. I particularly loved the “help yourself” guest kitchen for breakfast and the weekend drinks setup – such a lovely, communal vibe. I also have to mention the smell of the place. Perhaps a slightly bizarre thing to note, but honestly divine – I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but it added an extra layer of cosiness.
They’ve also absolutely nailed the little extras: weekly wellness events, including yoga in their dedicated garden studio, a home cinema with every streaming service under the sun, and work-friendly spaces with super-fast Wi-Fi. Mason & Fifth is all designed to make you feel relaxed yet connected.
The room
I had the pleasure of staying in one of their ‘Best in House’ suites, and it was everything I could’ve hoped for. The studio was thoughtfully designed and absolutely gorgeous – no detail had been overlooked. The kitchen was fully equipped with top-notch appliances, so whether you’re whipping up a quick meal or just making coffee, it feels like home.
Between the Smart TV and super-fast Wi-Fi, evenings were as relaxing as they come. Despite all this care and attention, this room at Mason and Fifth still felt private – just what you want in a home-away-from-home.
The final verdict
This place is a total gem. From the dreamy suite to the stylish communal spaces, everything was designed with comfort and beauty in mind. And being based in Primrose Hill? Absolute perfection. It’s the kind of neighbourhood where you instantly feel like you belong, whether you’re grabbing a coffee, wandering the streets, or soaking in the views from the park.
Excitingly, the team behind this property, Mason & Fifth, is set to expand their offering with the upcoming Taxi House development in Westbourne Park – a flagship site that’s already generating buzz. Scheduled to open in June 2025, Taxi House will feature cutting-edge sustainability credentials, a canal-side dining concept, artist studio spaces, and over 300 private studios. It’s clear Mason & Fifth’s vision of flexible, thoughtful living is only growing stronger.
Whether you’re here for a short trip or a longer stint, this Primrose Hill property is the perfect mix of privacy, community, and relaxed luxury. I left feeling like I’d just lived my best London life, if only for a night.
