It’s July. It’s 30℃. The tennis is on the telly. It must be #PimmsOClock.
But why simply settle for the nearest pub garden? The perfect sunny terrace is worth travelling for. Here’s a list of the very best places to enjoy a Pimm’s this summer.
1. Tattershall Castle, Embankment
Not to be confused with the historical 15th century home in Lincolnshire, the Tattershall Castle is the fantastic floating pub on the Thames, near Embankment tube. Decked out for the summer with all things Pimm’s, and anchored proudly opposite the London Eye, you can drink up the view as you enjoy a drink of the good stuff.
2. POP Brixton
This cluster of container-based pop-ups is just peachy in the summer. There are plenty of food options to choose from, from Ghanaian, Cantonese and Mexican cooking to sourdough pizzas and ice cream. Then gather in the central court for a glass of Pimm’s from the bar.
3. The Rose & Crown, Wimbledon
The Rose and Crown’s Wimbledon Marquee is back again this year and it’s going bigger, better and tennis-ier than ever before. Throughout the championships, the marquee will be the stage for various live bands, musicians and other events. Burger Shack will be on hand to serve you their famous burgers, while delicious jugs of Pimm’s are mixed behind the bar. The perfect spot for a perfect serve!
4. The Freemasons Arms, Hampstead
You’ll find The Freemasons Arms in the lovely village-within-a-city, Hampstead Heath. Not only does it have a spacious terrace and garden when the sun is shining, on July 15th and 16th they’ll be hosting a two-day Pimm’s Summer Party, with a pop-up bar serving up Pimm’s & Lemonade and Pimm’s-based cocktails. And naturally, they’ll be screening the Wimbledon finals in full on the big screen throughout.
5. All Bar One, Wimbledon
Just a tennis ball’s throw from the actual home of the Wimbledon Championships, aka the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, All Bar One is spot if you want to be close to all the action, but don’t fancy all that queuing nonsense.
Or you’re waiting for a friend.
Or you’ve just given up on the queue.
Or you’ve actually bought a ticket, watched all the tennis and then fancy a Pimm’s.
Or you just fancy a Pimm’s.
Chin chin, lovelies!
