Once upon a time, a bloke called Daniel Bell had an excellent idea, fuelled by a love of BLTs and PB and J. His idea was to spread the sammie love and launch a brand new, never-done-before event called Sandwich Fest. Us Brits love a sarnie, and London is full of some amazing subs which deserve to be shown off.
Street food vendors from all over London will come and showcase their best sandwiches, including Project Sandwich, Deeney’s and Sub Cult, while happy punters scoff their faces with the carby goodness. There’ll be everything from Asian-style subs to ice cream sandwiches, plus live music and lots of craft beer. Sandwich Fest will take place somewhere in east London (where else?) on 20th May (during British Sandwich week, of course), so keep your eyes peeled.
You can also help Dan fund the event through the Sandwich Fest Kickstarter Campaign. Fortunately he’s already hit his target, but why stop there? If you donate, you’ll get tickets to the festival, plus the chance to partner up with a featured sandwich vendor, and co-create a sandwich under your name.
