We hope you aren’t sick of winter pop-ups yet, because Last Days of Shoreditch are bringing their Winter La La Land to east London very soon!
Another day, another awesome winter pop-up. It’s a hard life here at Secret London… The newest addition to what is rapidly becoming an embarrassingly full slate of winter wonderlands comes courtesy of Last Days of Shoreditch. Though there is (sadly) no sign of Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, or any spectacular dance numbers, the Winter La La Land will fill you with seasonal cheer. And whilst the change of seasons mean there probably won’t be Another Day of Sun for a while, at least this City of Stars has another cracking festive pop-up to enjoy.
OK, less puns, more info. Last Days of Shoreditch are promising food, drinks, dancing, and DJs, all under one roof. You haven’t seen a tent this full of amazement and wonder since The Great British Bake-Off finished… which is all of one day. Hmm. Well anyway, there are some giants of London’s food and music scenes coming along for the ride. Want to know who they are? Course you do!
Vegan junk food aficionados Biff’s Jack Shack will be there with bells on, and Cheeky Burger will be flipping patties too. East London darlings Smokey Tails complete the trio of culinary kings, serving reinterpretations of classic American breakfasts. Rumours are swirling that they’ll be hosting a bottomless brunch too, so keep an eye open for that. The soundtrack to all this indulgence is pretty special, too. Alex Arnout, Geddes, and FUN DMC are some of the acts bringing the noise and the funk to Last Days of Shoreditch.
Meanwhile, karaoke kings Lucky Voice will also be in attendance, so you can try your hand at tackling the hits. You might need a little Dutch courage first, though! Stirred Not Shaken will be laying on some Ernest Hemingway inspired cocktails for whom the bell tolls, whilst the Hot Bar has boozy winter warmers available. Whether you’re looking to groove the night away on the dance floor, or steal a spot by the fire pit with friends, you’re well catered for. Or if you’re looking to go a little bigger (it’s Christmas after all!), themed private rooms are available for hire, from Bowie Bauhaus to Purple Rain.
The Winter La La Land will be opening on November 23, and will be Christmassing all over the place until December 17. They’ll be open from Thursday to Saturday, from 5pm until midnight-ish, and on certain Sundays. Entry is free, but a fiver will bag you a queue jump and a winter cocktail. Since there is obviously NO SUCH THING as winter pop-up exhaustion, you’ve got no excuse but to get yourself down there!
You can find Last Days of Shoreditch at 288-299 Old Street, EC1V 9LA, and the nearest tube station is Old Street.
