IKEA have teamed up with Uber Eats to make our meatball dreams come true.
That’s right, we no longer have to trek it to our not-so-local local IKEA store to get a taste of their iconic meatballs – they can now be delivered straight to our kitchen table!
IKEA have teamed up with Uber Eats to encourage Londoners to celebrate the Swedish tradition of ‘fredagsmys’, i.e. a cosy night in with friends and family. But of course it doesn’t take much persuasion for us to stay inside during the winter, especially when meatballs are involved…
For the first time ever, IKEA’s famous meatballs will be available for home delivery, as well as their dreamy Daim Cake and donuts. The goods will be served directly to your door in IKEA’s iconic blue FRAKTA bag alongside wine glasses, plates, placemats, candles and lights: everything you need for the perfect night in.
IKEA are insisting that we stay indoors (if we have to) and enjoy everyday celebrations in our homes, so they’ve created three set menus that feature IKEA comfort food and a selection of beautiful home products. For example, The Snug package (for two) comes with twenty meatballs, mash potato or chips, cream sauce, lingonberry jam and two slices of Daim cake, as well as some napkins, a cushion cover, a throw and a scented candle. There will also be a more formal veggie package and a family platter, each delivered with a different selection of IKEA goodies.
This offering is only available from November 16-20, and you’ll be able to order via the Uber Eats app. The meal deals are priced between £10 and £20.
The not-so-small small print: you have to be within a reasonable radius from their kitchen in Hoxton; you can’t order more than one set menu at a time; and it’s only available between Friday November 16 and Tuesday November 20, from 11am-2pm and 5pm-10pm (while stocks last).
