Prepare for a scorcher at London’s dedicated Hot Sauce Festival.
The heat is on and off in the British summer, but there’s only one place the heat is going at Peckham’s Hot Sauce Festival, and that’s up. Bringing together over 40 independent hot sauces makers from across the UK, the festival has assembled quite literally the hottest talent in the game. You’ll find it at Copeland Park on August 21 & 22, and we’ve got your tickets lined up here.
If you can handle the heat, you’ll find a tongue-tingling adventure awaiting you here. Visitors will be invited to sample and buy hot sauces from all over the UK, with appearances from makers including Pat and Pinky’s, Wiltshire Chilli Farm, Vicky’s Kitchen and many more. They’ll each be competing to thrill your tastebuds, quite literally so with the ‘Best In Show’ competition, culminating in an award show on the final day of the festival.
Meanwhile, street food specialists will be serving up their own spicy riffs on their favourite dishes, so be prepared to dial up the heat throughout the day with fare from Only Jerkin’, Dos Mas, and En Root. The Hot Sauce Festival will be soundtracked by a lineup of top DJs, who’ll be playing tunes just as hot as the sauces. Oh, and because you’ll obviously need plenty of refreshment to counter the chilli heat, you’ll be able to grab drinks from the Patron cocktail bar, or sip on Dishoom’s excellent IPA. Additionally, south London’s own Mondo Brewing Company have partnered with the organisers to create a festival-exclusive beer, which is rumoured to pair perfectly with hot sauce.
The festival runs through the weekend of August 20 & 21, from 11am to 7pm, and it’s a fabulous way to support independent businesses whilst searching for your new favourite hot sauce. Can you handle the heat?
