One of London’s many disgruntled tube users, Luke Lewis, took to Twitter to post his hilarious take on a ‘more honest’ underground map explaining what Londoners can expect from each station. It has since been an old favourite of ours, but it doesn’t paint the most pleasant picture of London. Although, if you are going to use a format to display London in a good light, it’s not going to be through the medium of an Underground map.
Naturally, Oxford Circus has been renamed ‘A Living Hell’, but some of our favourites include Southwark – now Bathos – and Bank – The Man. We do have to add a couple of edits. We admire that Luke didn’t go for the obvious ‘Hipster Twats’ at Shoreditch High Street, but ‘Fashion Twats’ doesn’t quite fit it either. We’d suggest any of the following: ‘People Who Drank Coffee Before It Was Cool’, ‘People Who Ate Cereal Before It Was Cool’, ‘People Who Were Born Before Living Was Cool’. Take your pick.
Perhaps if Luke had created the map today, the entirety of the Piccadilly Line would simply read ‘no trains available ever again’. Because at least that’s honest.
