We told you earlier this month that the Oxford Street Christmas light switch on will take place on Sunday 6th November. It will be the first big mark of the Christmas season in the capital, so, naturally, we’re a little excited. And that was before we received the email this morning announcing who will be switching on the lights…
(See our guide to when London’s Christmas lights are switching on.)
To give you a hint, for the next 7 Days (well, just less than), this man will be Walking Away from all the trouble in his life, with the knowledge that he’ll be bringing a Slicker Than Your Average switch-on to the capital. And he certainly won’t be chilling on Sunday, because when that bass line drops at 6.15pm, he’ll know what to do.
Yes, if you haven’t guessed from those ever-so-subtly planted lyrics, the comeback king of the year, Craig David will be flicking the switch. He’ll be joined by Nathan Sykes, The Vamps and last year’s X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, so expect more excited teenagers on Oxford Street than you’ll usually find outside of Topshop. The switch on stage will be located between John Lewis and House of Fraser, where the event will kick off a6 6.15pm. The entire street, however, will be closed to traffic from 12pm until 7pm to make way for fun-filled activities.
