We’ve seen the classic chocolate advent calendars, we’ve seen tea advent calendars, we’ve seen nail polish advent calendars, we’ve even seen gin advent calendars. You name it, it’s been popped behind a numbered window. But this year, fairtrade and farmer-owned chocolate masters, Divine, are building a giant one in Potter’s Field Park — one that you can physically climb into.
The giant calendar will be around from 8.30am-3pm on Wednesday 30 November, just before the excitement of advent begins. As well as stepping into the windows, you’ll also be able to purchase your own calendar from Divine, which was designed for the 9th time by talented illustrator, Stephen Waterhouse. This year it’s based on the traditional nativity, and each window will tell a new part of the story. It will also wish you a ‘Merry Christmas’ in 24 different languages; all from places that sell or make Divine chocolate, or where they source their fairtrade ingredients.
It’ll make for the perfect festive photo opportunity, especially since Tower Bridge will be the backdrop. Share your snaps on social media with the hashtag #DivineAdvent for the chance to win a hamper full of Divine treats. If there was ever an excuse to Instagram, this is it.
