Not only has Dua Lipa been busy getting married in various locations over the past few weeks, including a very chic London town hall affair, but she’s also had time to put a list together of all her favourite spots in London. She’s a busy girl, our Dua.
One restaurant taking a spot on the list is a Holloway-based eatery that’s known for its relaxed atmosphere and stunning flavours.
Westerns Laundry
Serving modern British cuisine, Westerns Laundry serves dishes from its daily blackboard menus that are guided by what’s in season. The focus is on seafood, as well as boasting an impressive natural wine selection.
Decor is rustic with room for 60 diners, with a cobbled courtyard and a private dining room.
Bib Gourmand, a prestigious award given out by the good people at Michelin Guide, that highlights quality food for good value, has put Westerns Laundry on its list, so you don’t just have to take Dua’s word for it.
An establishment with history
The restaurant opened back in 2018 and is the former home of the largest commercial laundry in north London, serving Pentonville prison, which inspired the name of the restaurant.
Their sister restaurant, Primeur, is just down the road and also has a fun backstory. It’s set in a former garage that still has the original Barnes Motors signs above the door.
There’s also another sister in the mix, as their other sister operation, none other than everyone’s fave bakery Jolene, provides the sourdough for tables.
