Watch A Movie At Somerset House: Film4’s Summer Screen Returns To London

share on:

Somerset House opens its (metaphorical) doors for a new season of screenings this August.

Imagine a warm summer evening spent sitting back on blankets, outside in the Somerset House courtyard, sipping Prosecco and munching on sausage rolls and popcorn while you watch In Bruges or Cruel Intentions or Moonlight. Sounds good to us.

We all love an outdoor cinema here at Secret London and Film 4’s Summer Screen is one of the biggest, right in the heart of the city.  Somerset House provides a gorgeous backdrop – and that, paired with Film 4’s excellent film selection, makes Summer Screen the full package.

The most exciting news this year though, is that Summer Screen will be hosting not one, not two, but three UK film premieres throughout August. There’s Swedish drama The Square starring Elisabeth Moss and Dominic West; the Sundance smash ‘like Joy but with rapping instead of mops’ PattiCake$ which, well, just watch the trailer and try not to smile…

And the follow up to climate-change documentary An Inconvenient Truth, introduced by Al Gore himself:

But you’ll need to book tickets quickly enough!

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 19th May (that’s tomorrow, in case any of you don’t own a calendar for some strange reason) and are priced from £17.  You can buy your tickets through the Somerset House website, here.
