Listen up meat lovers, this one’s for you! (Although we guess that’s pretty obvious — we don’t imagine any meat haters have reached this point in the article, based on the seductive meat-centric title). The Blues Kitchen in Brixton is hosting an unmissable rib-fest, promising lots of rowdy rib-related fun. For 3 days only, the South London restaurant will turn into a magical meaty wonderland, serving up some of the best ribs made by some of the most celebrated meat chefs around.
Head to The Blues Kitchen in Brixton on the 25th, 26th and/or 27th April to experience The Big Smoke, aka the mightiest meatiest night (or days…) of your life. With an all star line-up of chefs taking turns to be the centre of attention and show off their smokiest, juiciest ribs, you’re in for a lip-smacking treat.
Former Pitt Cue and Smokehouse chef, Neil Rankin, will take the stage on Tuesday 25th, flaunting tasty ribs and boasting about his newest restaurant venture, Temper. On Wednesday 26th, an American bloke called Wayne Mueller, owner of the Texan “cathedral of smoke” Louie Mueller Barbecue, is flying over to the UK show us his ribs. And last but not least, BBQ legend DJ BBQ will be feeding happy punters stacks of racks and ribs on Thursday 27th. He’ll be cooking up a mighty storm while dancing around to folk-infused blues. Something nobody ought to miss…
Besides the meat, there’ll also be over 100 different Bourbons (including some rare and vintage choices) to pair with the meat. And don’t worry if you’re not a Bourbon fan, there’s also a big list of cocktails and craft ales. The soundtrack to the festival will – naturally – be world-class blues, roots and soul artists. It’s pretty safe to say that we can’t wait to get our teeth stuck in and our faces all mucky.
You’ll find The Big Smoke at The Blues Kitchen, 40 Acre Lane, Brixton, SW2 5SP. Pop them an email to book a table!
