Do you ever look around your living room and think “something is missing here but I can’t quite put my finger on it”?
You’ve spent endless lunchtimes browsing IKEA and Argos for that perfect addition, but you just can’t seem to find anything that works. But has it ever occurred to you that you might be looking in the wrong places?
Maybe a nice airport departure lounge chair would go nicely in front of the TV? Or maybe a ‘🚻➡️’ sign would go quite nicely on the wall? Or perhaps a baggage reclaim belt would fit nicely in the…. wait, what the f*ck?
Since Heathrow’s Terminal 1 is currently deserted and no longer in use (may it rest in peace), Global Partners is putting the entire contents of the building up for auction. That means you can get your hands on the terminal’s old passport scanners, escalators, or even one of those cool baggage scanners that show off the embarrassing contents of your bag. You know, like you’ve always wanted.
We’d put money on the old seats and airport memorabilia forming the basis of a painfully hipster airport-themed pop-up. Probably in Shoreditch. Probably with some kind of edgy plane food served on an old Heathrow conveyor belt. You heard it here first.
