Evans & Peel Are Opening A Secret New Bar Disguised As A 1920s Pharmacy

share on:

Evans & Peel are opening a second speakeasy this August, and this time it’ll be themed around a 1920s pharmacy.

Evans and Peel are known for their infamous, top secret Detective Agency, the hidden cocktail bar that you can only enter once you’ve made an ‘appointment’ to see a detective, rung the doorbell to enter, and stepped into their office to present your case. But now they’re doubling the fun and opening another secret bar in Chiswick, except they’re dropping the detective act and dosing us up with all the tonic we need… with a little extra gin.

Walk through a humble pharmacy shop front and you’ll come across a pharmacist doing pharmacist things. Tell him the password (or you’ll have to work it out if you’re not in the know) and he’ll lead you through to the atmospheric, prohibition-style bar, adorned with antique surgical instruments and 1920s furniture.

Evans & Peel

Expect an extensive list of kooky cocktails on the menu, as well as fine wines and whiskies. Just what the doctor ordered. As for the food, the focus will be on all-star American classics, the highlight being the grilled cheese sarnies served in old, smoking cigar boxes.

To request a personal appointment with the pharmacist (i.e. to book a table) you’ll need to fill out this online form and explain your medical condition… a chance to get creative. Oh and, from August 21st-27th, the Pharmacy is having a soft launch, meaning you’ll get 30% off your entire bill during your 90 minute appointment*. And, if you happen to pop into Evans and Peel’s Detective Agency before that time and request a Penicillin prescription from the Detective, you’ll get the bill for half the price.

Evans & Peel Pharmacy opens on August 21st and you’ll find it 42 Devonshire Road, Chiswick, near Turnham Green station, W4 2HD

*you’ll need to make sure you follow them on FB and Instagram.
