Drink Absinthe Next To Pythons At London’s Most Curious Cocktail Bar

Who wants to be a Wine Connoisseur when you can be an Absinthe Absintheur, instead? To celebrate International Absinthe Day this Sunday, 5th March, The Last Tuesday Society in East London has created their most daring and spine-tingling event yet…

Head back to the era of the Belle Époque and choose 3 of the exquisite absinthes on offer to sample, all under the expert guidance of Absinthe aficionado Jenny Gardener of Sip or Mix.

The dark depths of the night can include an Esprit Edouard Absinthe Supérieure at 72%. This absinthe’s story is rooted in the late 19th century and was considered by many absinthe connoisseurs to be one of the finest marques.
Almost a century later, perfectly preserved bottles of this pre-ban absinthe have yielded the secrets of this famed producer, and remain an indelible part of Jade’s antique collection. The exquisite taste of this antique absinthe is incredibly smooth and delicious. And bloody strong.

Or, for those less inclined for a visit from the green fairy (aka Kylie Minogue from Moulin Rouge) there’s La Maison Fontaine Blanche at a mere 56%. This is the World’s most awarded blanche absinthe and is masterfully refined using an array of natural herbs and is sweet, refreshing with rich floral notes with hints of lemon and mint.

And, of course, no absinthe tasting would be complete without a petting zoo of boas, pythons, bullfrogs, et al… right?
