Now here’s a dinner date with a difference.
London Shell Co is the restaurant that offers a meal that will truly transport you… from Paddington to Camden and back again.
Set aboard the Prince Regent, this fine barge hosts about 40 guests for a waterborne feast.
It then embarks on a gentle cruise along Regent’s Canal while you have dinner.
It’s cute! Now, their speciality is great British seafood, with all your courses paired with a wine chosen and enthusiastically served by chap-in-charge Harry.
But on Tuesdays throughout the autumn, they’re serving up a special game menu. It’ll change from week to week, but when we joined the Co. for a cruise, we enjoyed red leg partridge with Waldorf Salad, a rabbit patê-type thing, and roast venison haunch. It was pretty great!
I should mention out that the canalside is not exactly lit up like the Southbank, so during the autumn evening sailings, you should expect to see rather less of the world passing by.
The darkness does make the low, long Maida Hill tunnel even spookier, though!
If you’d rather fully enjoy the greenery of Regents Park in the daylight, you can join them for lunchtime sailings on Saturdays and Sundays.
