Die Hausversicherungsexperten der Alan Boswell Group haben eine Studie durchgeführt, um herauszufinden, in welchem Stadtbezirk es am meisten spukt. Die Studie basiert auf Berichten über paranormale Begegnungen, der Anzahl von Friedhöfen und Gedenkstätten, der Anzahl leerstehender Immobilien und der Anzahl von Häusern, die vor 1918 gebaut wurden, in jedem Bezirk. Mit einer Bewertung von 9,18 von 10 Punkten wurde Kensington und Chelsea zum spukhaftesten Bezirk der Stadt gekürt. Der mondäne Vorort beherbergt 11 Friedhöfe und 204.761 Gedenkstätten sowie 10 paranormale Berichte. In Kensington und Chelsea befindet sich auch einer der berühmtesten Spukorte Londons: Kensington Palace. Der Kensington Palace genießt einen recht unheimlichen Ruf und beherbergt angeblich eine ganze Reihe von Geistergestalten, darunter auch Prinzessin Diana selbst.
Den zweiten Platz belegt die City of London, die mit 22 Berichten über paranormale Phänomene, 50 Friedhöfen und 1800 Häusern, die vor 1918 erbaut wurden, eine gruselige Bewertung von 8,94 von 10 Punkten erhielt. Der Tower of London mit seiner düsteren Geschichte und einer Fülle von Spukgestalten trug ebenfalls zum Gruselfaktor der City of London bei. Das trendige alte Camden belegte den dritten Platz mit 8,41 von 10 Punkten. In Camden gibt es beeindruckende 58.410 Häuser, die vor 1918 gebaut wurden, und hier befindet sich auch King’s Cross – einer der am meisten von Spuk heimgesuchten Bahnhöfe in London.
