Am 1. November beginnt das Festtagsprogramm der South Bank, zu dem auch die Eröffnung der berühmten Weihnachtsmärkte gehört. Das ist wirklich der perfekte Zeitpunkt – kurz nachdem die Uhren zurückgestellt wurden, was bedeutet, dass die Stadt Däumchen dreht und darauf wartet, in der frühen Dunkelheit etwas zu unternehmen. Die South Bank lädt Sie dazu ein, den festlichen Glanz ihrer Märkte zu genießen, sobald Sie Feierabend haben, und sie wird bis zum 26. Dezember gut besucht sein.
Schon bald können Sie die gemütlichen Holzhütten und das kochend heiße Street Food – Entenwraps, Chicken & Cajun Fries, Hummerbrötchen und vieles mehr – genießen, um sich in einer Winternacht aufzuwärmen, denn die Hütten werden bald geöffnet.
Wie jedes Jahr enden die Stände am zweiten Weihnachtsfeiertag, aber es gibt noch viele weitere festliche Aktivitäten im Winterprogramm der South Bank, darunter der Curling Club, der den ganzen Winter über bis ins nächste Jahr hinein stattfindet, und der London Gay Men’s Chorus: Christmas Bop am 6. und 7. Dezember.
