We recently told you about The London Shuffle Club opening in Shoreditch, and now it seems that another unusual broom based sport has made the transition from an old person’s past time to edgy London rooftop activity. If, like a lot of us, you don’t know what curling is, it’s that sport played on ice in which you throw a stone along the lane and then use that broom kinda thing to scrub the ice and make it go faster… It’s kinda like mopping the floor but in a super fun way!
[flickr: Brad Saunders]Sliders is London’s first ever rooftop curling club and it’s opening to the public on the 3rd of November. Located on top of Stratford’s trendy rooftop barRoof East, Sliders boasts four neon lit curling lanes as well as a cosy curling lodge to warm up between games. If curling doesn’t seem so (ice) cool to you then you can chill out in the karaoke cabins or heat things up a bit listening to the hot line up of DJs.
[Roof East]Although winter is definitely upon us that’s no reason to miss out on the fun – Roof East’s winter bar is undercover and heated making a rather adorable warm evening out of a cold winter night. As well as themed cocktails, you’ll find Roof East’s resident street food vendors Rockadollar hot dogs and Cachina grilling up Peruvian flavours will keep you satisfied.
