Have you been naughty or nice this year? At Brixton Rooftop’s debaucherous Christmas saloon bar, everyone has been rather naughty…
Flipping the venue’s summer pop-up on its head, Brixton Rooftop has been transformed from a sunny beach resort to a magical winter wonderland this November.
Through swinging saloon doors sits a rowdy dive bar, full of festive cocktails and street food. The South Pole Saloon was founded by a group of renegade elves who escaped Santa’s clutches. Helped by a party-lovin’ Snowman and Candy Cane girls, they’ve brought a unique Christmas experience to Brixton.
You’ll be lovely and cosy despite the wintery theme, as the rooftop is fully heated and covered. Besides, the entertainment is hot enough to warm you up anyway! Aside from elves and candy girls, live music, DJ sets, and rather risque circus acts are just some of the delights you can expect.
The food will be just as warming and festive as everything else at the venue. Vudu Food will be cooking up turkey and cranberry burgers, whilst The Lambassadors have got some baaaaaad-ass street food. Mac to the Future will be there dishing out their special Christmas mac & cheese served inside a whole Camembert (seriously, we Camembert the excitement).
There will also be a weekly food theme, with traders creating a new special each week. A perfect excuse to visit more than once…
Besides the delicious street food, an array of immersive supper clubs and masterclasses will take place. Ever wanted to try cheese stretching and cocktail shaking? Well now is your chance! Immersive cocktail masters ABQ – the team behind The Bletchley and these super-sciency cocktails – have joined for a residency. They’re be up on the roof offering molecular cocktail experiences, complete with dry ice and emulsifications. All this, less than three minutes from Brixton tube station? Looks like Christmas is sorted!
South Pole Saloon is open now on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until January 1st 2018. You’ll find it at Brixton Rooftop on Pope’s Road, SW9 8JH, and the nearest station is Brixton.
