Groovy, Baby! You Can Now Take Boozy Disco Yoga Classes In London

A new generation of so-called ‘mindful drinkers’ can reach a very special kind of zen at the latest of London’s brilliant hybrids. Forget Chip and Dip, Burger and Lobster, Toasties and Prosecco… it’s Yoga and booze. Happy Baby Poses all round! Oh, and did we mention the disco?

Think Downward Dogging to Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Chic and The Jackson Five. It’s what the glitter and spandex society of London would have wanted, and it’s happening every Tuesday.

The class starts with the option to ‘Glitter Up’ at a glitter station before you take your place on a Disco Yoga mat – no need to bring one. Blissful, energising sequences to a glorious mix of disco classics are said to ‘rejuvenate your mind, body, soul, reboot your body and take you to Boogie Wonderland.’

The ticket price (£15) includes not only your hour-long yoga class but also a super healthy super food mocktail, or a cocktail such as the cool Nam-Ice-Tea or the Tequila Sun Salutation. We know which we’d pick…

You can find Disco Yoga’s weekly residency every Tuesday at 7.30pm at the fabulous Trapeze in Shoreditch. There’s also some delicious food available at this kooky venue for any hungry yogis post-sesh. The menu includes ‘The Strongman’ sharing platter (curry chicken skewers, seasoned beef skewers, chorizo and fries) or ‘The Bearded Lady’ (brie & tomato toasted crostinis, breaded cheese bites, boiled egg quarters with beetroot dressing, warm pitta dippers and mixed olives).

This is totally gonna end in a Shavasana…

There’ll be other chances to Disco Yoga throughout February and March at Century Club on Shaftesbury Avenue as well as the regular slot at Trapeze. So keep your eyes peeled to book your spot.
