Banish your hangover with a brunch at Tabasco’s Bloody Mary cafe.
If you’re the kind of person who likes to follow a night of drinking with a boozy pick-me-up, then you are in for a treat. London is getting the UK’s first dedicated Bloody Mary cafe, landing at Boxpark Shoreditch for two days only. It’s been set up by hot sauce aficionados Tabasco, so you can expect a spicy affair. On December 14th & 15th, your hair of the dog will have a little more bite to it.
The Bloody Mary Cafe will be celebrating all things related to the cocktail, starting, of course, with a drink. The bar is serving Mini Marys, including a wasabi and coriander creation from master mixologist Rich Woods. You’ll also find a variety with smashed avocado in it too – a Bloody Mary for those bloody millennials.
Tabasco have also roped in some London foodie friends for support, and they’re adopting the theme. Pizza Pilgrims have created the Bloody Margherita, and The Drapers Arms are bringing along Scotch eggs with a Bloody Mary dipping sauce. Meanwhile, Juliet Sear has created Bloody Mary mince pies, and The Marshmallowist will be providing spiced vodka and tomato marshmallows. Decide for yourself whether those sound delicious or disgusting!
You’ll need to pitch up early (not easy if you’re using it as a hangover cure), as the cafe is only open between 8am and 10am. As a consolation, early birds will get one free dish and drink. Now you’ve got all the info you need, the only question left is: are you as sick of reading Bloody Mary as I am of typing it yet?
Find it at The Green, Boxpark Shoreditch, 2-10 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6GY. The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street.
