There’s a reason why it’s called the most important meal of the day.
Perfectly poached eggs and a glass of prosecco might actually be the secret to happiness. And what better way to start your day than with a fancy breakfast and a drink to go with it? Take a trip to any of these restaurants and we can guarantee you won’t leave without booking a return visit.
Carluccio’s – various
A top pick for delicious Italian food, but also somewhere that should be at the high on your list for breakfast. Head there bright and early for a vegetarian Magnifica – a mouthwatering mixture of eggs, courgette fritters, mushrooms and grilled ciabatta – paired with a spicy Bloody Mary cocktail for £14.99. There’s also a vegan equivalent on offer with baked borlotti beans and grilled courgette.
Carluccio’s serves breakfast from 8 a.m until 11:30 a.m and has 32 locations around London. ⭐ Sponsored. ⭐
Ben’s Canteen – Clapham Junction
This hidden spot is great for those who know their breakfast drinks. From Bloody Mary cocktails to even spicier Red Snappers and peach bellinis, you’ll find an ideal accompaniment no matter what food you’re craving. Try the Acai Bowl for a nutrients boost or the banana pancakes with hazelnuts and salted caramel sauce for a weekend treat.
Served 10 a.m – 4 p.m Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m – 4 p.m Friday to Sunday.
Tibits – Soho
Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant Tibits changes its menu seasonally and their current options are a big hit for plant-based foodies around the city. They’ve always offered strong breakfast options but have recently branched out to offer a fully veggie-friendly bottomless brunch.
Instead of picking one dish off of a menu, pile your plate high from their ‘pay-by-weight’ buffet selection and drink up on endless G&Ts. Tibits’ next bottomless brunch is Sunday 29th July 2018 from 1p.m.
Daisy Green – Marylebone
Known for its bold, fresh food, Australian-inspired Daisy Green is a great choice for breakfast food no matter what time of day it is. Head there for a single course at any time of day or treat yourself to bottomless brunch until 3pm on weekdays or 4pm on Saturday.
Bottomless brunch comes in at £39.50 per person but includes two hours of bottomless prosecco and mimosas as well as two courses from their menu. Highlights include the coconut bread french toast and broccoli and corn fritters.
Mildred’s – Kings Cross
Mildred’s offers a huge variety of veggie and vegan breakfast options as well as gluten free and organic produce. Go for the “Big Brunch” (organic scrambled eggs or tofu, “sausage”, slow roasted tomato, oak smoked house beans, roasted tarragon mushroom, toasted sourdough) with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary – but make sure to go there with an empty stomach.
If you’d rather something lighter, try the rose petal granola. Mildred’s serves its breakfast/brunch menu on Saturday and Sundays between 10 a.m – 1 p.m.
Dishoom – Soho
For a more diverse breakfast choice (with some very Instagrammable dishes), Dishoom is the place to go. “Fire Toast” might seem like a scary choice for a brunch dish but there aren’t many other places in London where you’ll be able to eat thickly sliced bloomer bread coated in pineapple-pink-peppercorn jam and tangy orange marmalade with star anise.
Breakfast is served from 8.a m to 11.45 a.m on weekdays and from 9 a.m to 11.45 a.m on weekends.
We encourage you to enjoy your breakfast, but please remember to drink responsibly!
