Always had a secret notion you were better than everyone on Masterchef? Occasionally looked at those Waitrose aprons with that iconic green font and thought… ‘Me’? Do you love desserts as much as Greg Wallace?
Well, your dreams have just come true. Waitrose have been slyly creating a legion of expert tossers, simmerers and saute-ers at their two London cookery schools. At either Finchley Road or King’s Cross, you simply need to pick which meal you wish to make your ‘go-to dish’ and book your place on either a lunch time or evening course for £25-£150. From a 5-hour South East Asia extravaganza to a 3-hour Dim Sum delight, you can turn from a would-be chef to a world-class cordon bleu cook (amongst your flatmates at least). Plus, you can drink wine while you do it.
Other sessions include the on-trend Bao – Steamed Bun for 2-hours or the Chicken Shawarma, Flatbread and Tzatsiki. Or there’s the more general option of the Perfect Steak, the Ultimate Burger, Chicken Butchery, Indian, Thai, French Cuisine or Knife Skills.
And did we mention the desserts? Greg Wallace would weep over the Chocolate Eclairs or the Seasonal Baked Alaska that you’ll learn to whip up…
Take a ferry, Berry, we got this covered.
Perhaps this is the perfect pre-date or pre-dinner party prep or even a date idea in itself…
Waitrose aren’t just about free coffee, you know.
